Welcome to my blog, Tupac Taught Me<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This blog is about my life, my experiences, and the music that shaped who I am. That artist is Tupac Shakur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hip hop is not just music to me. Through this blog, I want to share my story and the lessons I learned along the way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n When I was 9 years old, I was bullied at school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n At that time, my parents knew that I had always been drawn to Black people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Because of that, they taught me the word “racism” and explained what it meant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n When they explained it to me, I remember feeling confused and thinking. <\/p>\n\n\n\n “Why? They are so cool”<\/p>\n\n\n\n Even as a child, I couldn’t understand how people could judge others based on their race or appearance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I was being bullied, but that experience gave me strength.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It made me want to stay positive and keep going everyday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n When I was 15, something happened that changed everything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n A senior who was in Blood Gang<\/strong> gave me an album.<\/p>\n\n\n\n That album was All Eyez on Me<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n From that moment, I started listening to it every day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I didn\u2019t just listen to the music. For me, Tupac was never just a rapper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n He became a teacher<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n After discovering Tupac, I wanted to know everything about hip hop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I started listening to many artists from the 90s:<\/p>\n\n\n\n 90s hip hop opened a whole new world for me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hip hop wasn\u2019t just music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It was storytelling, culture, and reality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Years later, I went to live in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n That was when the music became real.<\/p>\n\n\n\n One day, I was sitting in a car with friends when I saw something I will never forget.<\/p>\n\n\n\n A police officer was pointing a gun at a Black man.<\/p>\n\n\n\n At that moment, I remembered Tupac\u2019s song Changes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The lyrics suddenly felt real.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Even though my friends didn\u2019t react, something inside me changed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I thought:<\/p>\n\n\n\n “Tupac\u2026 are things really changing while you watch us from heaven?”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Even today, I still listen to Tupac almost every day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hip hop continues to be a big part of my life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Through Facebook, I have also talked with Prophet Mocmoud<\/strong>, an American rapper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We have talked about hip hop, artists like Tupac and Drake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n For me, talking with someone from the hip hop world while living in Japan feels surreal and inspiring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Through this blog, I want to share a simple message.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Please don\u2019t judge people by their race<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I want people to think more deeply about racism and discrimination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n And I also want to say something clearly:<\/p>\n\n\n\n Black people and Black culture are powerful, beautiful, and incredibly inspiring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Artists like Tupac Shakur helped me understand the world in a deeper way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n That is why I respect this culture so much.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n This blog is my journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n From being bullied at 9 years old\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n To discovering Tupac at 15\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n To living in Los Angeles and seeing the reality Tupac talked about.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hip hop has been with me through every step of my life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n And this is why I want to share my story with the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2014 Chiz<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Introduction HI!
